Platform migration and Legacy transformation
This entails migrating an existing product to a new technology platform, example from C/C++ to .NET, moving an Informix database implementation to SQL, or supporting an application on Linux as well as AIX, etc. Legacy transformation may involve a complete re-write of a product from a legacy system to a new platform like J2EE or .NET. Alternatively, it could mean ensuring interoperability between an existing implementation and a new platform by writing XML wrappers to expose the same functionality through new interfaces

One-off Custom development
Many sales of technology products involve doing custom development work on a product to fit the exact needs of the customer.
